My Simple Joys

I routinely have Kaden watch a DVD called "Letter Factory" to learn the sounds. He said, "Mom I'm to sweaty to watch Letter Factory but I could watch barney". He's so creative!

Colby has started drinking formula. Tanner came home from school and was kissing on Colby. He stopped kissing his cheeks and said, "Mom when is Colby going to stop smelling like dog food ?" Good thing we've switched formulas since and Colby still gets attacked by Tanner.

Kaden is disciplined every day. :) When he was in time out he said, "Mom, you made me so sad." Like that wouldn't make me feel bad. On another ocassion he said, "When Tanner gets home I'm going to tell him and you will have a Time out!" I couldn't help but laugh that time.

Brookie likes to please her mama. The first week of school she came home and said, "Mom I'm so mad at myself, I'm sorry i didn't finish my lunch." Tears were puddled up and all. I had sent a lunch with her just so she wouldn't feel left out and if she was hungry she'd have food. She gets out of school at 1120am. Now we've got expectations all situated.

Kadster recently started preschool. He loves being just like Tan and Sis. He willingly gets ready and packs up what he calls his "baggage" aka lunch bag. He never eats from it but loves to bring it. When Brookie and Tan return from school nearly every day Kaden greets them saying, " I missed you while you at cool (school)" and gives them a big hug.

Tanner is sensitive to everyone's feelings in the family. I think I've trained him that way. Brooklyn looks up to Tanner and often wants his approval of things. She frequently asks him if her hair looks beautiful or her outfit looks pretty. He's always so sweet to give her attention and praise. His wife someday will be one lucky woman.

I explain to the kids often how Jesus helped Mom and Dad make their bodies. So Kaden bumped his finger real hard and said, "Jesus is going to cry. He will be sad".
