Thanks A Million

This picture is better than the first but Tanner hid in this one!

We had a small Thanksgiving party and it was great!  This year my family and I have a million reasons to be thankful!  The top winners are: I found my cancer,  I have an amazing cancer team, I'm done with chemo, I'm CANCER FREE, I have a super hubby, my kids and hubby are healthy, my kids brighten my every day, I have an amazing network of helping hands, we've had numerous yummy meals made for our family,  and I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life!!!

We are so very thankful for Grandma Julie!  She sacrifices nearly every week to lighten my load!  She never complains and sure tolerates a lot.  She has made it possible for Sean to work and for us to have normalcy within our home during all my appointments and treatment and when I just don't have enough energy.

Colby was obsessed with cousin Haley and got super upset when anyone took her out of his sight.  He kept saying "My Baby".

Calico Ghost Town

 We took a much anticipated family trip to Calico.  Tanner had learned about panning for gold and couldn't wait to try it himself.

 

Tanner had been wanting to pan for gold for over a year.  It was fun but he was disappointed when the worker added fake gold to his bag!

This is Colby's famous cheese smile! The kids all picked out a candy.

 I think this is such an adorable picture of Tanner.  He's so handsome!

To our surprise Colby wasn't scared of Santa.

We had a great time at Calico Ghost Town.

Camping We Will Go

After a long 6 months of cancer related treatment, we went camping in the cold at Rancho Jurupa!  We had to cancel all our fun filled camping we had scheduled since May. :(  We plan to make up for it in 2013!

This may appear that Tanner was fishing but he's actually using his larger fast remote control speed boat.

He bought this boat with his own money and it's about 18 inches long and goes way to fast to use in a  swimming pool!

Though the water park area was closed because it was super cold, the sand and rock climbing area was perfect.

The 6 oldest kids got to go miniature golfing together.  There's a course right at the camp grounds!

I was really there too but I'm the one always taking the pictures!

La Brea Fun

I remember very clearly when my Mom took me to La Brea Tar Pits as a child.  It was super cool then and it's super cool now!  We took the kids there when they were off school and had a great time.

Daddy would say that Colby was high maintenance on our adventure.

Tan the Man has been wanting to go for over a year.  It worked out in our favor.  The first Tuesday of each month is free admission!  Can you tell he was in heaven?

 

My best friend DeAnne had her fourth baby just days before our field trip so we took her oldest two oldest kids to give her a little break. 

 

La Brea Tar Pits is the largest fossil finding area in the United States.  The Archeologists are still finding more after 50 years...
