Usually Kaden is the culprit to earn time outs throughout the day. Recently when Tanner climbed on the counter, I sent him to time out. I had warned Tan and Brookie that I'm not going to tolerate climbing on the counter because Mr. Kadster loves to do the same. I don't want to help Kadster get stitches! So as soon as Tan sat in time out...Kaden runs over to him, hugs him and says.. "I time out!". No Kaden you aren't in trouble Tanner is... come here. "No I time out with Tanner!" Of course Tanner's heart melted. Kadster has continued to console Tan and Sissy when they are in trouble.
One night while laying in bed with Tanner he asked, “Mom why and how does our body make pee, pooh, and diarrhea? So I tried to explain that it is waste, things that our body gets rid of and doesn't need. He asked but why does it smell so bad? Well if it didn't smell we wouldn't know when to change Kaden's diaper right? I said we will talk about it another day and read our book, "The inside your outside." I still haven't read it yet but, it's an awesome book that explains complicated body systems in a simple way.
During nap time I asked Mr. Kaden if he was ready to go to sleep? He quickly grabbed the toy vacuum and said, “NO!! I'm vacuuming!” He was trying to pull a fast one on me.
I actually baked for the first time in 4 months. I tried to plan it around Kaden's nap because he likes to help a little too much. So he woke up right while the kids and I were decorating brownies. Kaden slid the stool over quickly and grabbed some chocolate off a brownie. I said, "Kaden, please don't touch, we are sharing these with our friends. He grabbed the second and said "Yummy Chocate" as he was smiling and shaking his head. I told him that he was going to have a time out for not listening. He said, "No, I eat chocate! I'm cooking! It's so hard to act serious when he's so funny.
Recently Brookie had a fever during the night. I told her when she woke up to stay away from her brothers. She looked at me with such a sad face and asked, " So I can't cuddle my brothers ALL day? I can't touch my brothers?" tears in eyes... "I can't touch you Tanner and I can't touch Kaden or baby Colby". She's so sweet with her brothers. At the end of sick day #1, Tanner came in my room and asked how much longer Brookie was going to be sick. I asked if he was worried he was going to get sick. He said, "I'm not worried about myself, I just want Brookie to get better. It breaks my heart when she doesn't feel good." I'm so grateful for the love they share!
Tanner continues to write me love notes and draw Dad and I cool pictures. He recently drew a picture of a big bright yellow sun with a huge smile. He put it in my bathroom window so I can see it through my slightly open blinds. I hope he forever stays thoughtful.
Brookie came and sat on my lap, showed me her fingers and said, “I have very intelligent fingers.” I told her how glad I am that her fingers are so smart.
A friend of mine was over visiting. She tried to talk to Kaden. He covered his eyes and whispered, “I shy.” I guess I've told people one to many times that he's a shy boy.
The kids get to attend my monthly Dr. appointments. They get so excited to hear our baby's heartbeat. Every couple days Brookie lays her head on my growing tummy and says, “I want to hear his beep beep.” I tell her that the beat she hears is mine but she doesn't listen. Brookie-lyn also asks how many more days till her Baby comes out and then says, “I can't wait to take care of him!”
Unfortunately, all three of our kids have nightmares. And usually not the same night. So it's rare that we get to sleep straight through the night. I think the kids are just getting me ready for their little brother to arrive. We knew Kaden was really having nightmares when last month he started waking up screaming and when we'd enter his room he'd say, “I scared!!, I scared!! Hold me!!"
I cherish the times my kids run to me for comfort after getting an owie.
I cherish the moments the kids sneak back into our room to give us one more kiss and hug.
They are growing like weeds, way too fast! I love you my sweet pieces from heaven!
Carving is always worth the mess. Kaden was happy to have is own pumpkin but wasn't too happy what he found inside.
Brookie made cute 5 Little Pumpkin puppets at school. This is just one of the times she performed for the family. She was very sweet to let Kaden participate!

We had a fun wedding celebration to attend in Halloween costumes. So fun!
