Arr!

Somebody else had a half birthday around here. When people ask her age, she answers very clearly with emphasis, I'm 5 1/2!!!

Brookie is super ultra feminine. She loves to wear her bright barbie lipstick and begs that I apply "eyescara" and blush. I have for a dance recital and for of our dates. She loves her fingers and toes painted too.

Daddy reassures her that she's so beautiful being all natural. She still wants to color!

Our beautiful tiny dancer even knows how to pose just right. She also takes full advantage of having brothers dress up.

Arr!

Brookie came downstairs in full pirate attire. I couldn't help but capture it.

She's our personal Elizabeth Swan. The brothers loved it. We had a great time!

ONE

There's nothing like a real birthday suit!
(Good thing my blog is private.)

As soon as Colby woke up, Tanner let Colby pick any toy for his birthday.
He picked the frog.

Then Tan had Colb's unwrap a look and find book he gifted to him.

Then we headed to the park as a family.

Even Daddy got to come cause Colby's birthday fell on a Saturday!

Colby LOVES the park. He could swing for hours if we let him. He especially likes his brothers and sis to run up and get him when he's swinging. He giggles so adorably.

Then back to the house for continued fun!

Colb's loves to play catch.

(You can see his big owie on his face in this picture. Thankfully a wonderful friend of mine edited some of my favorite pictures so not all of pics have his big owie showing.)

Then we headed back home and played some more.

Our lil'man is growing like a weed.

Then it was time for his b-day treat!
A gluten free, dairy free, egg free cupcake didn't look to good but Colb's didn't mind. He can have sugar so he was pretty focused on the sweet taste.

It's so rewarding observing the kids LOVE ONE ANOTHER as Jesus would do!

The following week we had his birthday party. He was so happy and loved all the action until...

I ruined it by putting his party hat on. Bad move by me!

Once he saw his big cake he quickly calmed down.

We had a fun filled memorable day together.

My Full Love Tank

Dating for over 115 months!

Wow we sound old. Sean planned another amazing birthday date this year for me. First my mother in law Julie was willing to watch our angels so we weren’t on the babysitting meter and could take our time. We pay $8 an hour for 4 kids now and it adds up fast!

We had a romantic dinner at C & O Trattoria in Santa Monica. One of our favorite restaurants due to the amazing garlic bread knots.

Then we put on our dusty roller blades and skated down the board walk in Venice Beach. We even saw Muscle Beach, it really exists! We saw some pretty sketchy people kinda stuck in the 70’s and 80’s. Poor guys stuck in that generation.

While in this T-shirt store, Sean’s roller blade strap broke. This left us two options, I roller blade along the scary boardwalk alone to get the car to pick up Sean or we attempt to tape his skate on his foot in hopes he could make it back to the car. A nice store owner gave Sean tape to use. Man are we thankful for a nice Man and his tape! We made it back safely to the car.

We then decided to stop by the Los Angeles Temple. We walked the steps that are at the exit of the temple. The very place where we exited 10 yr ago May. Seeing how it was my birthday date, he willfully kissed me on the back steps. FYI- Sean loves to kiss me but dislikes public displays of affection. (We don’t look to good but I had to still post this picture of us at the temple.)

We finished our date off by getting a cookie ice cream sandwich from Ditty Reese. It’s a famous inexpensive dessert joint. Sean’s eyes look like vampire eye’s. We had a fabulous time making yet another memorable date on the books!

On my actual birthday we went out to eat at Claim Jumper. The kids love celebrations just like me. he he!

Another recent date adventure was going to the shooting range with some friends. It’s always a bit nerve raking for me to shoot but, so much fun.

We also took advantage of the beautiful weather and went on a date hike to Etiwanda Falls.

We found a little date buddy right on our trail. Glad I pay close attention to detail!

We had a great time and can’t wait for all the kids to be old enough to join us!

Our Beanstalk

I found this special treasure on our ladder in the garage.

When I was brainstorming of what I could name this post documenting that Kaden turned 3 1/2, I thought about Jack and the Beanstalk story. As a child I remember just being so astonished how the massive beanstalk grew so fast. Thus being said, Kaden has shot right up like a beanstalk!

Our spicy quesadilla is a lil'man now.

Sean thought I may have encouraged these expressions, nope...Kaden was just being Kaden!

This one in particular captures just how much he's changed the past 6 months.
(Yes the background is our water storage barrels. I love the vibrant color to match his handsome eyes.)

Kaden has rhythm and loves to dance to nearly any beat! Kaden continues to keep up on our feet. We are so blessed by his mere presence. Family is super important to him. He's very conscience if he's hugged and kissed any or all of us if we are leaving home or the car for that matter. He continues to melt our heart throughout each day.
